My buddy Joe and I went to the Gilmore museum today, and I got another custom car fix. I didn’t get much done on my OWN custom car project, the ’59 T’bird, but I did get another dose of the Hirohata Merc that inspired the Eric Black design that made me cut up my ‘Bird. As an added treat, my friend Dennis Lesky was there, and local legend, and the “Sultan of Steam”, Buck Boudeman. We had a great visit in the diner, and I did get a little done on the ‘Bird after I got home.
For now, a little more Barris magic…
I am enjoying seeing the progress on your “bird”. The changes are subtle but an improvement. The ’51 Chevy in the Gilmore is mine and I am pleased to see Jack Walkers Hirohata clone along side. I think they represent some of Barris’s best designs. Keith
Keith, Thanks for sharing your Chevy with us, and being part of my inspiration. It’s a pleasure and an honor to have you reading the blog and following my humble build. I’m trying to make it worth your time to follow along, and have the car be something people want to see. Brian
love it
the secret of a good custom in my opinion is balance, a chop that is not too extreme is an improvement but go too far and it looks like a Mutant I like the cars in your pictures here because they both look “right” Your Tbird i find interesting and i can’t wait to see it once it gets to be painted then the vision of your project will be much clearer it looks good now and when its finished weel it will be a really cool ride.
