And now a word about Brian…
Who is this guy “Brian”, aka “Cool McCool”, aka “FlynBrian”, and why does he think what he’s doing is interesting, anyway?
Brian grew up thinking old cars, boats, motorcycles, basically anything related to or powered by, an internal combustion engine was cool. Financially naive, he set about amassing his own collection of cool old stuff, simply because it seemed like fun. And, fun is what life is supposed to be.
He spent his formative years in the grocery store at the magazine rack, looking at “Hot Rod” and “Rod and Custom”, dreaming that someday, a car of his would be featured in them, and fantasized about going to car shows. Once in a while, after an evening at Sears in Kalamazoo, his family would go to Swartz’s Drive-In in Kalamazoo, and while his folks complained about kids driving around and around and around the place, he secretly imagined it was he behind the wheel of that muffler-less, hubcap-less ’55 Chevy circling the joint with a youthful driver and pony-tailed girl setting in the middle.
Never got the ’55, but he did the girl, and they’ve been cruising ever since in a variety of hot rods, customs, and a few clunkers along the way.
Follow along as the projects come and go, but the theme stays the same. Something different, something fun, just a little outside the lines.
I have enjoyed reading your blog, with that I have passed on the Mrs. Sparkly’s Ten Commandments Award. http://www.ourboler.com/blogging-award-nomination/
I’ve signed up a month or so ago to receive your blogs and do enjoy reading them. I’m trying to imagine what mill you have in your cool wagon that has the guts and strength to pull that Manor travel trailer–looks like a great time!
Thanks for reading Scott. The wagon has a 4.8L LS, donated by wadded-up ’02 Silverado. A little shy on torque, but likes to rev.
Brian, I have nominated you for a much deserved award. Check it out! Debbie
Brian, Craig Leach here, I’m in need of your expertise. I hit the garage with my Newell, need a fiberglass repair man. Any suggestions? I’d e-mail the pictures if I had you address. Let me know. Craig
I think I will adopt you
no reply on the adoption yet my brother and I always had things to build but he was killed on in a motorcycle accident on oct 2012 I still miss him he was born 1956 I don’t know I am telling you this but I did
I’m trying to reach Brian. I’m attempting to learn more about Buck Boudeman, and specifically the Ford Special racer motor he owned. Please drop an email or call. My phone is 402-643-0235, eastern Nebraska.
Thank you,
Rob Heyen
I don’t know the car you’re referring to, but I can ask his wife the next time we see her. She’s a very private person, Buck was a great guy, and a real character. He’s missed.
